Plans for an Eisenhower Memorial Get Changed

The plans to build a new national memorial to honor U.S. President Dwight D. Eisenhower have been recently changed, based on very strong feedback from Eisenhower's relatives. The Eisenhower Memorial, which will be built in Washington D.C. across the street from the Smithsonian's National Air and Space Museum, is being designed by architect Frank Gehry.

One of the family's main complaints is that the only statue of Eisenhower that will appear in the current plans for the Eisenhower Memorial is a small one, which depicts Eisenhower as a young boy. In general, the family detests the entire design. For an overview of the complaints against the current plan, see the list at The Truth About the Eisenhower Memorial.
